Snakeskin Is In

Let's talk snakeskin. I must admit that snakeskin is not at the top of my list for favorite prints. Don't get me wrong, I acutally love snakes, but I do not care to have the iconic print on my person. Nevertheless I do believe that any trend can be pulled off as long as you cater said trend to your unique aesthetic. This Spring season snakeskin dominated the runways and therefore, like the animal slithered its way into mainstream fashion. Always striving to lavish you lovelies with the fashion trends of today presented in the La Vie SPG way I found the perfect head to hem look at a one stop shop. H&M blessed me with an entire look for less that crossed off all the sophisticated, playful, and glamorous details I naturally would need.
Here are my tips for staying proper and prim in snakeskin
1. Choose A Neutral Palette- Snakein is a very dominant print and so toning it down with cleaner colors creates a less in your face statement.
2. Incorporate Feminine Details- Soft fabrics, ruffle sleeves, bow tie elements, or minimal embellishment soften what can be deemed a hard print
3. Flatter YOUR Figure- When wearing a prominent print place it on the part of your body that you wish to highlight. I knew that my top would be tucked in to showcase my petite waist and further minimize how much print was being presented.
4. Don't Like The Print? Accesorize It!- If snakeskin is something you absolutely will not wear consider using the print as an accesory. Finish a neutral look with a snakeskin headband, crossbody, skinny belt, or heels for a small pop of print.
After shooting this La Vie SPG take on snakeskin I found myself loving the look and re-learning that fashion is as much about taking risks as it is about authentic expression. So have fun with your fahion lovelies, try a trend you normally would dismiss, and always know that no matter the look it is nothing without a confident woman wearing it.
