Inspiration Everywhere

Inspiration can come from anywhere and for as long as there has been time, humanity has taken fashion cues from the simplest leaf to the architectural wonders of the world. Fabrics have been fashioned and draped to mimic ocean waves. Intricate beading has been perfectly placed to evoke constellations. Literal recreations of animal prints have been birthed from witnessing nature’s wildlife runway. Anything can become fashion inspiration. Recently I bought a book whose contents were just as breathtaking as its binding. Unable to physically transport myself to the world within its pages, I decided to be the modern-day version of the heroines I found myself adoring.

Elizabethan, intricate, and soft were the main elements I chose to make my focus when searching for the proper dress to do this book justice. I should have known Love Shack Fancy would have exactly what I was looking for. The puff sleeves give a nod to vintage femininity and can be worn on or off the shoulder. Lace trim ends each tier of the flowy bottom half and the rose-on-the-vine embroidery matched the rose pattern on the book almost perfectly! I instantly added to cart. Promenading through the park, I felt regal, ethereal, and comfortable. What a great match when fashion and inspiration collide and what is left is a moment that feels both in and out of time.
